Booking An Appointment

As of 1st October 2025, Hirsel Medical Centre will be using 'eConsult' as the main contact method for patients, instead of the traditional telephone route, to help reduce the early morning demand. It is available during practice opening hours, Monday to Friday, and offers an online questionnaire which you complete, to be looked at by the practice team. Your problem will be triaged and you will be told the best course of action to direct you to the most appropriate service - for example, an appointment or telephone call with a GP or Practice Nurse, an onward referral, booking in with another service or member of the practice team, or a text message reply back with further information.

You can complete an eConsult by clicking on the blue image above, or by clicking here

If you have any problems with submitting an eConsult, a member of the team will be able to help you.

Did you know that you can also book and cancel appointmentsorder repeat medication andview your own medical record and test results online without telephoning or visiting the practice? Please see our webpage about the NHS App, or if you have a SystmOnline or Airmid Account, you can do similar activities online via the SystmOnline webpage.

Home visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:30.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
